Mount Marwah (Jabl-i Marwah)

Koh-i Marwah is the second of the Twin Hills at Masjid al-Haram. In Islamic Tradition when Abraham (Ibrahim) left Hagar (Hajrah) at Mecca with a few provisions, she ran back and forth between the valley of Safa and Marwah climbing each seven times in search of water or help.

circa 150 CE

Mount Marwah

Marwah is located approximately 350 meters from Kaaba. The mount is now a part of Masjid. Today not much remains of the original hill as it is now covered and part of the Masjid Haram, only a few rocks of the tip are visible.
